The Washington Buddhist Peace Fellowship invites you to join us for an evening of discussion and reflection on how Buddhist practices of mindfulness, compassion and wise action can be a basis for transforming our own lives and help address the challenges of climate change facing our world today. Over the past year, a group affiliated with the WBPF has been exploring some possible entry points for an ‘engaged Buddhist’ approach to addressing climate change. This evening will provide an opportunity for stepping back and reflecting on how we might want to move forward.

Hugh Byrne, senior teacher, Insight Meditation Community of Washington, will introduce the theme of bringing the practice of mindfulness into engaged action in the world, with a focus on climate change. WBPF members will report on past activities and opportunities for future action, followed by an open discussion.
